Choosing to be a stay-at-home mother has its rewards, but it can also have its difficulties—that’s why there is the MOMS Club (MOMS Offering Moms Support).1 The MOMS Club is an international nonprofit organization that offers a friendly environment for mothers who seek to learn, serve their community, support other stay-at-home mothers, and just have fun.
The organization strives to empower mothers by sharing helpful household ideas and tips and by encouraging healthy lifestyles for mothers and their families. MOMS Club also makes it a priority to reach out into their communities and serve those who are in need. Some of their projects have included fundraisers to support loved ones of individuals who have experienced cancer, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), and fatal nervous system disorders. One project in particular brought MOMS Club moms together to support one of their own who was undergoing stage IV breast cancer. Together, they were able to provide her with meals, play dates for her daughter, and extra doses of love and support during her cancer struggle.
The MOMS Club’s support system also helps stay-at-home mothers avoid any negative emotional side effects of being a stay-at-home mom. According to Metro Parent Daily, stay-at-home mothers are at risk of being more depressed, angry, and sad.2 These emotions can result from being isolated and feeling a lack of accomplishment. The MOMS Club tackles those problems face on by providing opportunities for moms to interact with each other and serve their community. These activities are designed to eliminate negative emotions like depression, anger, and sadness and replace them with friendship and fulfillment through service and interactive events.
This upcoming March, doTERRA Wellness Advocate and MOMS Club member, Danielle Kissinger, is participating in the annual MOMS Club International Founders Day Luncheon. She is a member of the Riverside West chapter, a chapter that has been supporting the stay-at-home moms of Riverside, California since 1998. Danielle will be one of many stay-at-home moms who attend the luncheon to learn from other MOMS Club members and come away feeling inspired. doTERRA International also donated product to support the MOMS Club members and aid them in their pursuits in building and sustaining positive family environments.
